About Me

Planner in Transmission Planning group of BC Hydro, a power utility in British Columbia. I have over 30 years of experience both in private and public sector utilities in several areas of its functioning.

Career highlights:

  • Worked on a 500,000-Volts transmission reinforcement project in BC.
  • Performed extensive studies leading towards 2010 Energy policy development of BC.
  • Worked on several generation, load interconnections, Regional Transmission Planning and Network Integration Transmission (NITS) Studies.

Involved in compliance with some of the NERC Mandatory Reliability Standards for ensuring Reliability of Integrated Bulk Electric System in North America.

Worked as a Technical consultant in developing a prototype for a real time reactive power optimization tool. Extremely passionate and enjoys volunteering for IEEE for over a decade and half.

Handed over a sum of $50,000 to IEEE Canadian Foundation (ICF) towards corpus fund of Vancouver student’s scholarship. Helped the Vancouver Section executive team raise funds over several years. Ensured a strong contingent of four representatives from the Vancouver Section could attend the 2017 world Sections congress in Australia.

During my three years as chair (2012 - 2014), I organized several workshops, distinguished lectures and technical presentations while collaborating with local, national and international personalities.
